
James Fox, Associate
James read philosophy at Leeds University (BA), design and technology at Sheffield Hallam University (PgDip), education at Sheffield Hallam university (PGCE) and landscape architecture at Sheffield University (DipLA). He began work with Todd in 2006 having previously practiced as a furniture designer and teacher. He has also worked for Jinny Blom on projects including her Laurent Perrier garden for the Chelsea Flower Show (Gold) and design for the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre (Bali Award).
Since joining the office James has played an important role in the development and implementation of the following schemes: the re-design of the pleasure grounds at Kensington Palace Gardens to mark the Diamond Jubilee of HM The Queen (to open in June 2012), the Hampton Court Palace Trophy Gate Masterplan, the Marylebone Garden of Rest (RIBA National Award), the Artists House, Kensington (Stephen Laurence prize) the new Cradle Walk and Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace, the Restaurant Kiosk at Waddesdon Manor, a roof-top garden for Selfridges Hotel in Oxford Street, Chapel Court at Hampton Court Palace, and the Boudouris House in Hydra.
James is a lecturer on the MA course in Historical and Sustainable Architecture at New York University.
Ed Harbottle, Landscape Architect
Ed studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire (BA) before working at Fabrik Landscape Architects, London. He spent several years as part of a design and build firm building contemporary gardens in Devon and Gloucestershire. He joined the office in Spring 2011 and has since worked on the masterplan for Hsinchu, detail designs for Kensington Palace, several town gardens and a new art gallery in Vauxhall Gardens.
Steve Walker, Landscape Architect
Steve studied geography at Leeds University (BA) before completing a Masters in landscape architecture at Sheffield University (MA). Between 2006 and 2011 he worked for LDA Design on a broad range of projects from residential masterplanning through to the detailed design of park and public realm schemes. Steve’s parks experience includes both historic park restoration schemes on a number of HLF funded projects (Clissold Park, Bushey Park, Barking Park), as well as the design of more contemporary landscapes including the new London 2012 Olympic Park, where he was involved in both the detailed design and implementation phases. He became a chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) in May 2011.
Since joining the office in Spring 2011 Steve has been working on the detailed design proposals for Heckfield Place, a Grade II Listed former country house set within historic parkland and gardens.
Joe Sanders, Landscape Architect
Joe studied Landscape Architecture at Kingston University (BA) before cycling from London to Italy to raise money for charity in the summer of 2011. He finds inspiration from growing up on the south coast of England where he feels connected to the surrounding natural landscape. Joe joined the office in Autumn 2011 and has since been working on Hsinchu, Heckfield Place and detailed design for Kensington Palace.
